everytime an evolutionists tries to teLL me my precious Bible might only be 90% true i give them this genius question "if we evoLved from apes then why are there stiLL apes?"
Then they teLL me that there was a group of apes that Lived in an enivironment where having human characterisitcs menat you had a better chance of reproducing, and there was another group of apes that Lived in an environment where having ape characteristics meant you had a better chance of reproducing.
Then i say "Oh." because it makes a lot of sense

er, we didn't evolve from apes -- apes and mankind both evolved from the same root stock, not man from apes -- at least so I understand evolution from my partner. My advanced degrees are not anywhere near the field.
Jonathan says that Orrorin tugenensis may have been the progenitor of both apes and humans - but that it isn't clear yet. If it is, then its the so called "missing link." If it isn't, there is still an unknown step at the split.

Is your faith so weak?
Let me give you an example of natural selection: when you were conceived, only one sperm out of millions made it to the egg. If that particular sperm had not made it, maybe you would have been born a girl, or have hazel eyes. Would God love you any less if that had happened?
So EITHER God used a process of natural selection to create you, OR He directed that particular sperm on its path in a way indistinguishable from natural selection. The same applies to all organisms throughout all of time. Natural selection is only partially random.

Yeah, almost right, but of course we *are* apes, so the question you are parodying is irrelevant anyway. Those religious folks really ought to get their noses out of their bibles and read some real science.

Actually, Evolution claims we evolved from a common ancestor. Example... the wolf... the wolf was the only known existing "dog" when mammals first started sprouting... ;o> Yet, look at all of these other dogs... they have shown them to come from the wolf... yet we still have wolves... I mean, come on... a Chihuahua!!!!! from a WOLF???? And there's still wolves??? ^_^

LOL! do you think that fundies will ever put an honest effort into studying evolution before they dismiss it?
It's just plain stupid for them to dismiss something that they have no understanding of.

We share almost 99% of our genes with chimpanzees. And if they're apes, then so are we.
