Figure out why he is howling and remove the problem.
I looked back on your question history and I see that you got a new kitten. That's probably why his is howling and peeing. I don't know if you mean the new kitten is howling or your older cat is howling, but I'm assuming it is the older cat.
Don't punish him for being stressed. It will only add to his stress. Keep the new kitten isolated in a room with it's own litter box, food, water, toys, etc. It will keep the kitten out of trouble and will keep it out of your older cat's hair. Make sure he doesn't have a urinary infection, which can be deadly. Neuter him so he's less territorial or horny. Give him catnip, lots of treats, attention, and consider using Feliway spray to calm him down. Get extra litter boxes and put them in places he has sprayed. Then he can spray in the box, which wouldn't really be much of a problem. Pick up all your stuff as possible and cover things with plastic drop cloths sold for painters. When he gets used to the kitten, you can remove these things little by little until your house is back to normal. Your vet can also prescribe anti-anxiety meds and your doctor can prescribe anti-psycotic meds for you until things get better! Good luck...been there done that!
NOTE:If you need to get rid of a cat, get rid of the kitten. Your older kitty will get better in a few days and the kitten will easily find a new home. Your older cat will may mess up someone elses house from the stress of moving and may end up in a shelter being euthanized.

get him neutered!!!! more than likely he's spraying to mark his territory and the howling that he does is because he's a tomcat and wants to go out looking for girlfriends. if he's actually squatting and peeing then he might not like the cleanliness of the litter box, but i bet it's the first thing. getting him neutered will mellow him out a little more and although it may not completely stop the spraying, it will cut it down alot. it's normally not all that expensive to get a cat neutered, just call local vets and see which one is cheaper...but make sure it's a vet with an upstanding reputation. also, you can check with local humane societies or aspca/spca that are governmentally funded or funded by donations to see if they offer any assistance in the cost of spaying and neutering animals. hope this helps out and good luck!

Don't spray the cat with water- that's what they hate the most! He's probably, being a male cat, wanting a female cat. The best thing to do is let nature ride it's course. Don't get rid of him because of it... it's not his fault. If it doesn't stop within a few more days, take him to the vet.

You should put peppermint oil with water on everything he sprays. And since cats don't like the smell he will not spray there anymore. That's what I do with my cats. As for the howling.... keep him inside at night, or get him fixed.

they might tolerate eachother yet i doubt they would be friends. cats are very jealous creatures, and extremely territorial. in case you had gotten them the two on an identical time, no huge deal. they could have grown up mutually and been greater or much less like brothers. now, the 1st one has first dibs on the homestead and the hot one is an outsider. it ought to be diverse once you progression out through fact it will be a clean homestead, yet i does not wager on it. i artwork at a vet health center the place there are 3 male blood donor cats. they get alongside large for the main section till nutrition is in touch. truthfully, i desire you have the little adult males declawed so that they cant harm eachother.

Sounds like your little boy is becoming a man. He needs to be neutered ASAP. He's howling because somewhere nearby there's a little girl in heat and he's peeing everywhere to mark his territory.

Have you neutered your cat? The vet can offer some medications to help with spraying and marking in the house.

Definitly get him fixed thats your whole problem he wants to go out cattin and thats his way of telling you "let me out dammit or i'm gonna pee on everything you got".
1. he knows theres a female nearby thats why he howls.
2. the peeing is territorial.
3. 1 and 2 can be stoped with a good nut whacking (sounds mean when ya put it like that)..

Has he been neutered? If not......why not? He is probably marking his territory. And the howling may be because he wants out to fool around....if you know what I mean. If he has been neutered, then ask a vet what the problem may be.
