Hi, does anyone know if the Jehovas witness still think ARMAGEDDON is just about to happen? And if they have an exact date yet?

I'm thinking about taking out a large loan for a new car and trying to work out how many payments I'd have to make.

Yes, Armageddon is very near, although we are not given the exact date because we should serve god out of love and not with a specific date in mind. Instead we can tell that we are now living in what the bible calls 'the last days' or 'the time of the end' which can be calculated as having started in 1914 and would be a short period of time during which many bad things would happen such as world wars, epidemic diseases, famines, earthquakes and a disintegration of moral values to name a few of the signs. The only part of the prophecies still to be fulfilled is that very soon the governments of the world will destroy religion worldwide and the world will experience what is described as 'the great tribulation', shortly after that Armageddon will happen.

So, sorry no exact date, just very soon. If you want to know more detail get it from the horses mouth.

I know a guy that did just that. He bought cars for both of his kids on his credit cards and was thinking that the rapture was coming soon. That was about 14 years ago. I assume that he paid the cards or sold the cars.. The JWs probably don't set dates any more.. I believe that the rapture will be in less than 5 years from now.. If you want to go to the bank with that??? I personally would not recommend it..
What about this, you take out the loan and then you don' go in the rapture!! Joke would be on you and you will be here for the Great Tribulation...(no joke there)

Armageddon is not a verb, it is a place. The battle of Armageddon takes place in the valley of Armageddon. according to Revelations, the battle will take place at the end of the seven years of tribulation. The tribulation happen after the Rapture. The rapture is when Christ will take his church to heaven. People all over the world that believe in Christ will dissapear all at once. As far as I know that hasn't happened yet, because I'm still here.

I think many people believe this will happen one day, not just Jehovas Witness. Yes, there is a date, but it is like 800 years away, I saw it on discovery. Sorry I can't remember the exact date. Looks like you will have to make all the payments!!!

When Armageddon happens, you won't need to worry about any car payments.

You can have your own personal armageddon anytime you want it. Some call it armageddon, some call it suicide... most people call it suicide.

If you want a free car, go to your local freecycle group, they usually need a bit of work but what do you want for nothing... your money back?

Well I heard that they thought it was 1914 but then when it didn't happen, they decided that was the beginning of the end. I don't know if they've got an exact date now or if they don't want to make such fools of themselves any more!

Well they keep changing their minds and they seem to have an answer for every conceivable question you ask them.Designed to drive you completely insane so that you eventually (they hope)become one of them.So I should hold out on the car until you get a definite answer.
