How do I tell him nicely that I've lost intrest and he's not what I want in a man? I really don't want to hurt him and I'm his second gf first real gf. I still want to be friends with him.

It is very rare to be genuinely friends after breaking up, especially if there is real feeling there... You must resign yourself to not being his friend, then let him know how you feel as gently as possible (the way you phrased it in your question would perhaps sound a little harsh to him). If it turns out you can be friends it is a bonus. I wish you both luck, but if you are the first girl he's loved, you will also be the first one that broke his heart... This will be hard for him to forgive.

first of all do it asap. Dont let it drag on. Tell him your exact feelings and see if he still can be your friend. He will probably be mad at first and say, no or something extreme but if he truly cares about you he will accept being just friends. But again dont let it drag on. Good Luck.

be honest. the longer things go on in a false manner, the more pain there will be. And it is naive to think that there will be no pain. Just be honest, and tell him you respect him as a person, and like him as a person. He's just not the one for you.

Just tell him how you feel. I mean you can't avoid hurting a person if they really like you and they're about to lose you. That's impossible not to hurt them. So just tell him and hope he understands.

being honest is sometimes quite hard, but it's the best. Don't make up excuses and and and... cause it will always come back to you. Be honest and face the consequences.
