If you don't mind the different looks and really want a hybrid in a Nissan, the all-new 2007 Altima will be available as a hybrid with a 4 cylinder, 2.5-liter engine. Since the hybrid unit is out-sourced from Toyota, expect total system horsepower to be approx. 205-225 hp.

The 2007 Altima rides on an all-new "D" platform, compared to the 2007 Maxima (which carries over its older platform), so expect overall dimensions to be very similar. You can see the 2007 Altima here: www.nissanusa.com/altima07

The earliest you can expect a Maxima hybrid will be the 2008 model, when it should migrate to the new platform.

Currently, Nissan is moving towards flex-fuel capable vehicles in their truck lineup and will eventually have most if not all vehicles flex-fuel capable, but this will not happen to passenger cars this year.

In the United states, the 07 Maximas are *NOT* flex fuel or hybrid.

(They *are* how ever, a VERY NICE car.. I drove one this week)

Nissan is planning on the 2007 Altima hybrid that is expected out in early spring 2007.

As far as I know, neither. They may offer a hybrid version, but I don't recall hearing that.
