I see it over and over again where fundies point out an incomplete fossil record as being proof against evolution. Do they not understand the large infrequency of animals that become fossilized?

You answer your own question when you ask about fundies and understanding...These are the people that deal in absolutes and anything that doesn't fit into their model of the world is obviously false and irrelavant and anything they don't understand is a mystery of God. Don't try to understand those that don't extend the same courtesy. Ignore them. Peace.

I think you are over simplifying the problem. No one thinks everything becomes a fossil. Incomplete fossil record means that there is not one fossil to prove evolution, not one. There is nothing that shows cross species evolution, nothing. There are no missing links, none.
Now I find it odd that with the many fossils we have found of this and that, that we have never found even a little clue to back up your religious views.

Fossilization needs very specific circumstances to occur. But when there are small gaps in the fossil record (which are becoming smaller and smaller every day) they think this somehow "proves" thier claims of a universe created by a magic sky-pixie.
The fact is, science is scary to them. It requires thought, diligence, patience and they want thier answer, NOW. Even if it means the answer is an outright lie like ; ' god did it '.
But hey, it makes life easier for those of us who do hiring for large companies. If thier resume mentions god or if they mention any religious affiiliation, the resume goes into the shredder. Simple and effective.

I understand that very, very few animals and plants become fossilized. I also understand that there are many fossils buried out there that humans have yet to discover.

However, I also understand the huge holes in the theory of evolution and that it proceeds from a naturalistic assumption. Even more "up to date" variations on Darwin's theory fail to address things like the vast number of differences between primate and human genetic codes (the percentage of the human genome and the closest primate genome that are the same is very high, but is still accounts for hundreds of millions of mutations. To explain this using evolution, one would have to accept that the human genome changes several times per year, on average).

It disturbs me that those scientists who are proponents of the Theory of Evolution conveniently fail to address the inconsistencies that plague their own belief system. That's really what evolution is, by the way. It takes as much or more faith to believe in evolution as it does in Creation.

For purposes of full disclosure, I am a Christian who is not averse to the idea that God used something like what we now call evolution to create life on earth. However, there are way to many problems with the Theory of Evolution for me to put much faith in it. ;)

May God bless and keep you.

Heck I just challenged any fundie to describe in their own words what evolution posits, and not a single one could do it. The only descriptions I got were 100% in contradiction to evolution.

Fundies don't know about and worse, don't CARE to know about science or evidence.

Facts are just inconveniences to them.

Your logic is off and your facts are just plain wrong... double check what a fossil record is all about... you may learn something and then you won't look so dumb the next time you try asking a question...

All fundies know of science is the propaganda of little snippets they get form church, like we came from monkeys, etc. They do little if any real research and it shows in their answers
