I think the Jersey Blue claw crabs are the best. I have had Maryland crabs they are okay. But I do think Jersey beats them.
I will be in Alaska in 2 weeks and look forward to trying crabs up there.

Maryland or Virginia, for soft shell or blue crabs, Florida for stone crabs, Alaska for king and snow crab, Washington for Dungeoness crabs.

Washington and Oregon. It's the Dungeness crab also found in Canada, up into Alaska and down as far as Northern California.

Maryland is good because they are so common, but just about anywhere along the east coast you can get them and they taste just as fresh. Florida gulf coast has good crabs if you're looking for soft shell, and then of course the west coast is where you can get king crab legs. So I think really any coastal state is good.
