all he has thrown up is food. he's still pretty active, we played toss with the ball and he drank some water. He also went to the bathroom and it looked normal. I'll try the pepto bismol, and if that doesn't seem to help anything our vet will get a call.

He has a tummy ache from something... probably ate something he was sensitive to. If it lasts more than 2 days or he seems dehydrated, has a fever, has bad diarrhea, if there's blood in vomit or feces, or stops eating or pooping take him to the vet. Worst case scenario he has something stuck in his stomach, like a sock, and it's causing a blockage. Best case scenario, it's just a tummy ache from table scraps and it will go away after 2 days. It could also be worms or bacteria, so take a stool sample to the vet. Withhold food for a half a day and offer lots of water and some pepto bismol. If it doesn't help by the end of the day, take him to the vet.

You know, when my dogs have acted that way, it is because they have gotten into the trash and swallowed something they can't digest..such as aluminum foil, or a piece of bone, etc.
Try giving him some canned food with 1/4 cup of canned pumpkin, or canned food with 1/2 cup of canned cream corn..
if that doesn't move things along by tonight, he should see a vet in the morning... I would think that , in this case, Pepto would camouflage the problem and keep him from expelling whatever it is upsetting is stomach.
If he likes grass, you might allow him to eat grass, to see if he can barf up what is bothering him...If there is something there, it is better for him to continue to vomit and get rid of it.

Depends if he seems ok in himself. If he is still bright & happy it will probaly sort its self out.Dogs get bugs too just like people do. The colour of the sick can help determing what is wrong.
Slimey clear sick is the usual bug type my dogs seem to have. It is very catching & spreads through them all very quickly. They tend to drink alot with this bug & immediately bring it staight back up again.Yellow watery sick tends to be just a one off & no others get it. Throwing up undigested food & re-eating it is usually indegestion. I starve my dog for 24 hours after it has been sick, to give the stomache time to settle. Then I feed a light meal of rice & boiled chicken until they keep it down. If your dog seems unwell or there is projectile vomiting ( sick flying across the room ) get him to a vet as soon as possible.

Is he an outside dog? He may be getting too hot? They will go off their food some in the summer and may have an upset tummy. Might have to take him to the vet if he doesn't get better soon..

Did he get into something? Check to see if you have anything toxic lying around the house or any plants that he might have chewed on. Another thing - does he have a store-bought liquid flea treatment on? If so, they are poisonous if the animal bites or licks itself. If you aren't sure what the problem is, then take him to an animal hospital or your vet's office immediately.

it has been pretty hot these past few days, make sure she isn't in direct sunlight for extended amounts of time and that she has enough water. Keeping her hydrated is very important. If this continues, make sure you take her to the vet

Is he lethargic or acting sick? What is he throwing up? Some dogs just eat grass or drink too fast and will throw up. But if he is at all not acting like himself, you should get him to a vet.

They do eat grass and they do throw up.
Does he have a temp. Temp should be taken rectally, use plenty of Vaseline, and hold on to it for 3 minutes. Temp should be between 101-102
