My 5 yr old is not circumsized and when he goes to the bath room the head of his penis blows up like a balloon, is this normal? Also when he was born his doctor had told me that when he turned 5 the skin would start to pull back but this doesn't happen either. I'm not as worried about the skin pulling back because that might happen when he starts to hit puberty but I don't know if it's effecting him when he goes pee. Does anyone know what I am talking about? Is this normal?

He probably has a mild bacterial or yeast infection. My ex is uncircumcized and mentioned during a discussion about children that around 5-6-7 he started getting alot of yeast infections under his foreskin. Over-the-counter womens 7-day treatments are effective, but take him to the doctor to make sure of what kind of infection it is. He could also be allergic to something and when he urinates, it irritates his foreskin. Start talking to him about keeping his body clean so he doesn't get infections, it may sound a little weird but have the doctor show him exactly how he needs to clean himself. Is the husband or father around? Maybe he could help teach your son too.

That doesnt sound right to me. His foreskin has to be pulled back for cleaning and that is done way before puberty. Sounds like some sort of infection.
