I am making my bridesmaids a newsletter (a few of them actually) to give them on-going info about the wedding. So far, I know I want to include contacts of all the attendants, addresses of the wedding & reception, ideas for Bridesmaid dresses, and dates for my brideal appointments in case they want to come help me find a dress. What other info would you want if you were standing up in a wedding? I know I would appriciate something I could reference too, instead of having to call whoever to find stuff out. Thanks!

I find it a bit "tacky" to respond to a question without any intention of answering it, but instead to bash on someone's idea.

For your information.....I am not using this "newsletter" as an "easier way" to communicate with my bridesmaids, but instead as a cute piece of memorabilia they will be able to keep forever as a remembrance of our wedding activities together.

If you knew me and my friends personally, you would know we are all into scrapbooking, pictures and making memories last forever. Therefore, they are all very excited to see my “newsletter” and would actually find it quite odd if I didn’t do one!

But again, thanks so much for your opinion.

My goodness I think Miss Manners needs to take a manners class in how to talk to people. First off I think it is a great idea. In fact it sounds like you and your bridesmaids are just like me and mine!! I think it is fun to come up with new ideas that make planning and the actual day different. In fact I am doing something similar to that with www.theknot.com you can do a whole "free" web page and also send out "newsletters" from there. It might be kind of cute to make it look like a page out of a newspaper. Put in a few pictures of you and your hubby to be. Maybe have a editors splurg about how thankful and how much it means to you to have these wonderful women by your side. Make it fun, add fun little things in there along with the information. I just think have fun with it, your girls will love it!!

Bridesmaid Newsletter

I'm sorry if this sounds harsh, but I think this present tacky trend of bridesmaid's newsletters is R-U-D-E.

Surely you don't have THAT many bridesmaids that you can't do the decent thing and communicate with them all individually by writing each one a simple letter or email, and enclose the photocopied list of addresses.

Newsletters are for offices and companies, not for 4-8 people who you know PERSONALLY and who are doing something very PERSONAL for you. They deserve personal treatment, not a mass-mailing.

If I were your bridesmaids I would be very put-off when receiving this "newsletter." My honest advice is to treat your ladies better than that!

It looks as if you have almost everything covered! Don't forget to include the Rehearsal and Rehearsal Dinner information and maybe some polls on dress ideas, decorations, etc. as well as a little game/puzzle just for fun http://www.bridalshowergamesatoz.com/ Also, you may want to include a "reminder of upcoming dates" section.

You could also create a special email account just for wedding related items that the bridesmaids could use for suggestions and you could use for registering and inquiries. This way all of the wedding information will be just a click away!

Good luck!

That is a great idea first of all.

I would include a little about each one. Like list your maid of honor and a little bit about her and then but who she is walking with and a little bit about that guy. So this way they know a little bit about the people they will be working with. Give them ideas about the wedding, your colors, formal or informal. Just some background information.

Make sure (maybe in later newsletters) you include things like tips for there hair, are they wearing them the same?

I think that basically covers it for now. I think that is terrific!

I am surprised you have time to spare to do this newsletter while preparing your wedding..

Aw, in addition to what you already have in mind.. i think it would be a good idea to include the schedule on the actual wedding day, e.g. what time must the bridesmaid be there, what time is the march in, what songs, cd to play for the march in, or during the wedding reception.

Sounds like you kinda got it covered. Just be sure to tell them how much you appreciate them being in your wedding. My sis just got married and didnt once thank us for spending our time and money on her. Although I was glad to, a simple thank you would have been appreciated. A cute idea would also be to put a countdown at the top with the days left till your no longer a single woman. Get the girls hyped! Talk about showers and bachelorette parties too.

Sounds like you are off to a great start!
Perhaps a little snippet about the backgrounds of each of the bridesmaids? (like where they are from, how you met them, etc.) Or the groomsmen they'll be paired up with?
Updates about the planning overall?
