exercise...lose the sugar in your diet. It may take a week or two...but it makes a HUGE difference. (And it's better for you too!)

First of all I don't care how old you may be you need to set a regular bedtime. Make sure you are at least getting 8 hours of sleep if you can. Try to be more active and getting more excercise, like walking or riding a bike. Caffeine is ok as long as it is used in the right way. Don't eat anything sugary or with caffeine before you go to bed and always eat breakfast because that tells your body that you're out of the sleeping mode and ready to begin your day. If you drink coffee try not to drink too much of it, don't drink soda for caffeine, try some herbal teas. Eat healthier. Fruits will also give you a big burst of enery, especially bluberries and bananas. Caffeine will only keep you going for a few hours then it will slow you down. Fruits won't do that. If it doesn't help try talking to a doctor about it.

I was diagnosed with fibromygalia which is basically a fancy name for intense malaise and fatigue....when I found out there was an actual disease associated with what seems like my endless laziness I was excited becasue I thought the answer would come in a bottle (as in getting a script of some type of wonderful pill that would give me th eenergy) BUT no such luck there is no cure. All you can do is:
Set up a sleeping pattern (go to bed at the same time each night, wake at the same time each morning), A good ammount of sleep is 6-8 hours any more or less will increase your fatigue.
Stay away from sugars and caffeines so you will not experience a crash later on.
Excersise.... it sounds like a joke because if you are fatigued then who can excersise? BUT it actually realeases oxygen adn certain chemicals that help you feel energized...if you hate to excersise like me, then try stretching daily.

Could there be a physical reason? You might be anemic, or there could be lots of things - need to see a doc & rule those out first. If you are on medications they could be the culprit - a lot of antihypertensives have fatigue as a side effect. If there are no physical reasons, then consider exercise. It energizes you and contributes to your overall health and well being. Some people take Ginsing, an herb, because it is supposed to be a natural boost. I would check with the doc first.

Eat healthy and get a full night's sleep. If you eat well and eat at least 3-4 meals a day your body will have more energy and it will be constant energy as opposed to the quick boost of caffeine.

If you doing normal activities you should check with your Dr. there are many things that can cause you to feel tired. Diabetes is one of them and there are millions who are undiagnosed. Low iron, low b-12, a side affect to a medication, simple blood tests can check those problems, etc. etc. If you are just getting afternoon sleepiness try aroma therapy for a quick pick me up, or a good workout/exercise program.

As bad as it may sound, go to bed at a decent time. Most people stay up too late. From HABIT. Really, TV and late night chit-chat and late night activities are an adopted time scale. Work and School go on without respect to these. What is more important to you?

The more exercise you get, the more energy you will have. Also, be sure to eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, and carbs, along with lots of water, as your body needs plenty of these things to produce energy.

Eat healthy and rest. If it continues, you might want to see a doctor. If it occurs for more than a few months, it could be depression or a thyroid problem.
