Nowadays I see lot of girls, ladies trim their hair for about 1 or 2 inches every month or alternate month. I think the main reason for cutting the hair for 1 or 2 inches is because of split ends. I also see lot of hair stylist recommend and advise all people that when you have spilit ends cut your hair for 1 or 2 inches. I also see some recommend to go for reguler hair trimming so that the more you cut your hair grows. Is it true? Please comment whether ladies or girls should go for reguler hair cut for about 1 or 2 inches every month for the hair to grow faster or if they have spilit ends.Because I had this problem at my home when my wife is wanting to go for trimming her long hair 1 or inches. Yesterday when we went out she went to mens saloon and asked the barber to cut her hair and by the time I could see what was happening the barber cut 2 inches of my wife hair neatly trimmed. Please advise

Hair does not grow evenly. That is why that within a couple of months after a trim, you see that your hair is uneven. That said, it is better to have a trim once every two months. Trimming should not affect the growth of the hair as hair grows from the root.

Yes, it is advisable to trim hair every 4-6 weeks to remove the broken ends. If they are not cut, the hair will just keep breaking instead of growing (it doesn't grow faster with a trim). The length trimmed should be judged by the length of the broken hair, not just 1 or 2 inches every time. Ripping a brush or comb thru the hair causes unnecessary breakage; always be gentle with hair strands.

Ladies should trim 1/4 -1/8 inch off. If 2 inches is trimming, then I'm Mo Jackson.

Depends on what people do to their hair.

I blow dry and straighten my hair nearly every day, and it's also colored. My hair is dry and damaged, so I get about an inch or two trimmed off every 2 months.

People who have very healthy hair, no chemical processing, don't use damaging heat, well-conditioned, can go longer without trimming, usually about 4-6 months.

P.S. trimming your hair does not make it grow faster. That is entirely determined by genetics.
