you may not have the memory wire hooked up right it has to go to a wire that stays hot all the time,,if the memory is burned up in it,,you cannot repair it,,they also have a fuse in the fuse box,,or on the radio harness that is marked ,,and it may be blown,,you can check it,,i hope this help,s.

if the cd player is installed in your car what you would have to do is buy a simple test lamp, check both yellow and red wires ,
first shut ignition off put test lamp on yellow wire if it turns on it is a problem with the cd player, if it does not turn on turn key to the on position chances are light will turn on. do the same with the red wire, yellow has to be hooked up to constant power, red has to be hooked up to switched power.

make sure fuses are good, believe it or not i had a horn/cig fuse that was bad in my old s10 that when i replaced it, the memory started working again on the radio. otherwise, the "always on" wire to the cd player is not getting direct uninterupted power.

You need to change the permanent live and switch lives over. Permanent is usaully the red wire out of the stereo and yellow is switch
