Well, if they got cash from the ATM, it means that you left your PIN in the wallet. That was incredibly stupid! Most creditors will NOT cover you if you do that! If you don't protect your PIN, your liability is UNLIMITED in most cases!!!
Cancel the cards and cut your losses NOW!

My first thought was how did the person get your pin numbers for the credit cards?
Call the companies and report the card stolen (they found it, it didn't belong to them and they used it). Dispute the charges/uses at the ATM with the credit card companies, telling them that the cards are stolen. Report the fraudulent charges to the Police department, and get a copy of the report for your credit card companies.
Most companies will take the charges off, as many, now, have a policy against fraudulent use of credit cards not being the customers' responsibility, but yet a handfull of companies, still stick it to the cardholder. In those cases folllow the dispute of the charges/uses out. Some companies also have a deductable that you are responsible for such as the first $50.00 of charges that you did not make, you will have to pay. Ask the company to send you there policy.

It is considered stolen, if it was lost no one would have found it much less used it. Contact your local authorities NOW and then contact the credit card company. Stores have surveillance systems that will give the authorities a description of the person that has you wallet.
The card company will give you your money back and cancel the cards

U should obviously cancel all your cards and speak with someone about that. U should report it as stolen because someone already has access to it. I don't know who you bank with but wells fargo offers identity theft protection which monitors your social security number daily and informs you if anything is being done under your social. It also gives you your credit score and what causes it to be low/high.

well it's only lost if no one finds it. someone obviously did find it and then stole money from you. cancel your cards immediately and you should be able to recover any money that's been stolen. make sure you cancel everything including any id cards. most credit/debit cards have id theft protection and allow you to recover money that has been withdrawn without your permission.
oh, and make sure you check your credit report throughout the rest of the year to make sure no one is opening credit accounts in your name. checking your credit is free once a year or whenever your id is stolen or you suspect it may be.
3 major credit bureaus are: experian, equifax, transunion

Call the companies and the bank and let them know that your cards were taken, asap. I don't know that it matters if they're lost vs. stolen, you just want to prevent any more use of your accounts.

Should report to police. ATMs take a photo whenever you reach for the money. Do you write your PIN number on your cards?
