my little boy is three ...he has been riding for about a year with the top down...he is buckled in safely and we are as careful as possible... I would suggest maybe sitting in the backseat beside the baby that is what i used to do..my little one loves to throw stuff out now..so we can't even leave his shoes on he threw them out driving down the hihway! lol..

I wouldnt recomend it, when the baby get around a year old, he will understand his carseat if you know what I mean. He will learn to lock and unlocked it better than you. Top up or down its no diffrence because he could just like lean over and fall over, My friend had a bad experience. He parked in his garage, and he came out to get the groceries before he unlocked the baby, the baby was 1 year and 3 mounths while he wasnt looking, The baby unlocked him self and fell off the top and landed on my friend , LUCKLY. The Next day the traded it in for a used car, for a 06 Jeep Liberty, Great for 1 or to kids, and its an O.K. Price new, better used.

Wranglers ride rough and handle poorly. I would NEVER put my child in one of these vehicles. The danger in a crash is horrible especially to a child. The Wrangler is a Utility vehicle...nothing more. It is not designed to be safe for its occupants. Heck...just the terribly rough ride on a bumpy road could be too much shaking of the babies little brain inside its soft skull. You would be horrified if I shook your baby while holding it as roughly as it is shaken just riding down the road in one of these.
Do yourself a favor...go buy a cheap minivan to drive the kids around in. Get rid of the Jeep...you have a Family to protect now!

We have a wrangler and my baby just turned 1. I still won't drive around with the top down. It is too much air on him.

I put a hard top on mine untill my son was 8. Remember that Jeeps flip really easy. Your baby's safety is #1. I would not have even kept the Jeep if I could have afforded another car.

I had it, just sold it. Have one little one and another one on the way and couldn't really fit all their crap in there. But there is another issue I had (I don't know if yor"re pregnat or already have one), but I was just so scared driving with little baby in that car - always imaginig if there's accident, that soft roof doesn't protect the back seats at all....
