These results were flagged on a recent blood test. The doctor doesn't seem too concerned...any thoughts?

Bilirubin....<0.1
WBC....3.8
RDW.....15.5

These are the only results that came back as not normal. A little history...

I am a 2 year breast cancer survivor. I did AC chemo and 5 weeks of radiation, along with a double mastectomy with TRAM reconstruction. I don't know if any of that matters. Thanks!!

well,
what you are presenting here are normal except for the last one which is RDW. I cannot say it is abnormal because i need to know your RBC as well. Up to 13 is normal for RDW. High RDW means that the size of the red blood cells differs significantly. this happens in some kind of anemias. so if your RBC is normal RDW means nothing. forget about it. if you have kind of anemia, then ask your doctor to explain you why your RDW is a little high.

if you get a physical and everything is normal in your follow-up exams and imagings, you won't need to worry about anything. live your life and cheer up.
I hope this helps

I don't know what those results mean. But the very fact that you are concerned about your doctor's lack of concern and especially his/her lack of explanation for you means you should DEFINITELY seek a second opinion. Make an appointment today.

In the meantime, use a search engine on the web to look up what those results may mean. WBC stands for white blood count. I don't know what RDW stands for. The two search engines I prefer are:
http://www.yahoo.com
http://www.ixquick.com

Try searching for "bilirubin blood test" or some similar phrase.
