We do not have air conditioning because we are not allowed in our apartment and it never gets this hott anyways! But its hott today. I left the shades down a BIG BOWL of water and ice and there are two fans and two ceiling fans on..but I am still so worried about them. Do you think they will be ok?

next time, take a two liter and fill it with water and freeze it...you can put it in their water to keep it really cold and if you freeze a few of them they can lie up against them to keep cool too...
they will be okay...they have shade and water and circulating air...

I would be concerned about the dogs simply because, if you're not supposed to -be- there and somebody shows up, won't they get taken away? They should be alright with the bowl of ice water and the fans, but you mgight want to take a break from whatever you're doing during the day to check on them.

They should be fine, especially if they are in good physical condition and health. Sounds as if you did everything you could possibly do for them. Access to clean fresh water is the key.
Hope we all get a break from this heat wave soon!!!

YES.....as long as they have water and you leave the ceiling fans on....don't worry! Thank God there are people like you around that care enough to ask questions about your dogs. That just makes me feel so good! They will be fine.

They will be fine . Dogs respond to heat different then we do. The water the ice the fans all great ideas.
If you can go home during your lunch break to check or you know someone who can that would be a great idea

Seems like you have done all that you can. Is it possible for you to check on them on a break? Maybe a neighbor can check on them, add ice to their water, lay a cold towel on them, etc. Thank goodness you are concerned about them. So many people don't even think about their pets in that way. Good for you!

They will be fine, I've been stationed here in germany and we have no AC as well and my dogs have been fine. I have a 90lb doberman and a 40lb husky/shepard mix. They both just lay around. I figure as long as they have plunty of water they will be fine.

The suggestion to go home at lunch is especially wise if your dogs are "smushy-faced" (pug, bulldog, pekingese, etc.). These dogs have enough trouble breathing as it is - excessive heat is very hard on them. Otherwise, they will likely be fine.

They should be fine. Just think if they were on the street they wouldn't have water.
