GEN 1:25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
GEN 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

GEN 2:18 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
GEN 2:19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.

I fear that what you really mean is convince me. That is different from a proof. Proving the existence of contradictions is easy. The Bible is an anthology of texts, set down at different times by different writers who told differing accounts of some of the same events. Each saw God, Jesus and other biblical persons somewhat differently. The above from Genesis is but one example of many. There are of course many gospels outside the bible, not all of them recognized by every church.

How important these contradictions and inconsistencies are depends on how you see the Bible. If you see it as "literal word" then you have a real problem as the inconsistencies are then extremely important. If you see it as a collection of inspired parables to help people find their relationship with God, then these contradictions fade in importance.

Unfortunately, most people don't want the truth, they want reassurance. What are you looking for? Only you know. But, please, be honest with yourself, as all people should be.

most apparent differences are very reconsilable and no contradiction may even exist such as Gen 1 and Gen 2 the animals wer ALREADY created and brought to be named

Gen 2 "..19 Now the LORD God had (ALREADY) formed out of the ground all the beasts of the field and all the birds of the air. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. "

some differences are just in the normal usage of words and might refer to appoximations or idioms... and .. many many of the apparent contradictions have to do with a false idea of thinking the bible was writiten in the style of phootgraphic 21st cetnruy journalism... saying at the resurection there was 1 woman or 3 or a group... is not a contradiction but a style of focus it owuld be differnt if it said only 1 excatly 3 and exactly 10

you generally have a short summary of a large event and two short summaries may both be true while bringing up differnt points.
Additionally, you may have a different audience written to
Matthew Jews
Mark Romans
Luke Greeks
John the world

and each group may have differnt ways of telling time and differenign interest

a few and i mean very few might be scribal error in copying
and a few might be one short summary of several events combined

I dont know of any irreconcilable contradictions

You know what, you can find many contradictions in the Bible.
What people need to realize is that these contradictions are not by accident. They are there on purpose, beacons urging us to seek deeper meaning of the scripture.

Think about those who say the Bible has been rewritten so many times that it is flawed.
I will answer by saying... what about the contradictions?
If the people that translated the Bible didn't do their job correctly, then why are there contradictions. Don't you think these translaters would have doctored up the contradictions to make the whole thing sound more plausible?

1 Timothy 2:14 vs Romans 5:12

2 Samuel 10:18 vs 1 Chronicles 19:18

As for where it says the earth is at the center:
1 Chron 16:30 Fear before him, all the earth: the world also shall be stable, that it be not moved.
Job 9:6 Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble.
9:7 Which commandeth the sun, and it riseth not; and sealeth up the stars.

Sure no problem.
1. God is satisfied with his works
Gen 1:31
God is dissatisfied with his works.
Gen 6:6
2.God is tired and rests
Ex 31:17/ Jer 15:6
God is never tired and never rests
Is 40:28
3 God knows the hearts of men
Acts 1:24/ Ps 139:2,3
God tries men to find out what is in their heart
Deut 13:3/ Deut 8:2/ Gen 22:12
4 God is just and impartial
Ps 92:15/ Gen 18:25/ Deut 32:4/ Rom 2:11/ Ezek 18:25
God is unjust and partial
Gen 9:25/ Ex 20:5/ Rom 9:11-13/ Matt 13:12

I could go on and on and one. Trust me, this poorly written rag is nothing BUT contradictions. Not to mention half-truths and outright lies.

In response to one post, where does the Bible say that the Earth is in the center of the universe? That was an old Catholic doctrine, not the Bible. I also find it interesting that people want to guide you only to other websites instead of giving you specific verses.

Israel is called as God's firstborn. in Exodus 4: 22
Exodus 4: 22 "…Israel is my son, even my firstborn".

Jeremiah 31:9 "…For I (God) am a Father to Israel, and E’-phra-im is my firstborn."

David is also called as God's firstborn in Psalms 89:27
Psalms 89:27 "Also I will make him my firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth"

Jesus is also called as firstborn of all creations. Colossians 1 :15 "Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation"

(who is God's firstborn? Israel or Ephraim or David? or Jesus?).

Earth will perish and abide forever
Hebrew 1:10-11 & Psalms 102: 25-26 says that Almighty God created Heavens and Earth and they will perish.
Exactly opposite is mention in the Book of Ecclesiates 1:4 & book of Psalms 78:69 that the Earth will abide forever.

Just look at all the christian denominations how could there be so many different denominations believing in the same book if it didn't contradict it's self? I don't know any quotes as I haven't read it and I don't particularly want to. Say no to jesus.

It was my original intention to come back to you with Biblical references, instead I will ask you a question. What difference does it make? What would I gain by showing you the flaws in this religious text? That's right, nothing. Instead I would ask that you devote more time to studying your own religion and reconciling these contradictions for yourself, instead of turning to those of us who do not believe because we can not reconcile these differences. I hope that helps.
