My rule of thumb when naming a dog:

Give the dog a human name that you would never name your child.

So any website or book that you find with baby names should also have some names you would never use for a kid, but maybe would make a great name for a dog.

My dogs names: Chase, Tucker and Becker

Do it your self! list all your favorite names for the dog then put the dog across the room, say the names twice or three times if the dog comes the dog likes it if the doggy doesn't try again with different names you didn't list down.

The best dog name, is one that is easy to pronounce, easy for the dog to remember, and that can be heard a long way away. Also, IMHO, it should not be the same as any of your family or friends, especially children, as it can offend. From experience, one or two syllable names are best. Tack, Digger, Spot, are good names.
