Interfaith is gathering of different religions of the world. Considering the influence of religion or faith to mankind, it is highly expected that through interfaith, religious leaders will come up with the solution to peace and prosperity among their members if not for the whole mankind.

I think it will. The pope right now is undertaking a big push towards ecumenism, or bringing together different religions to talk and try to understand each other. I think this could help put an end to sectarian violence, and could help people of faith learn to understand and live with each other.

So you are suggesting a one world religion, which means that what makes our beliefs unique will be absorbed into the collective.

As a Star Trek fan, the analogy you are suggesting is a Borg mentality. Loss of individuality in order to promote the collective with everyone thinking, looking, and feeling the same way. In fact in the Borg world, there are NO individual thoughts.

It cannot work because there are certain issues and practices specific to each person's religion and this would mean to abolish these items. Many of these practices are extremely peaceful, but we would abolish those practices because they are exclusionary.

For instance, communion in the Christian faith could no longer be practiced, nor could believer baptism (immersion), nor could infant baptism (sprinkling). All are specific to the Christian faith. Oh you might still practice those in a one world religion, but the meaning and the reason for them would be abolished. The same with scripture reading and prayer - they would be abolished for the sake of the collective.

Working together to resolve world issues is a worthy idea and yes the people of all faiths can work towards these issues. As long as you are not asking us to abolish our individual faith practices.

Religion is a man made concept involving an institutionalized system of practice. Faith is the act of practicing your belief in a "Higher Power". When did GOD ever say you must be a Christian, Jew or Muslim to reach eternal life? The Quran says all religions should come together because they all worship the same GOD. Jesus said you do not have to take my way to reach eternal life. It is not necessarily faith or religion that separates mankind it is the lust of money, power and recognition. Eliminate these cravings and eternal peace will exist.
