I would like a small puppy that stays small, and isnt so yippee. I live in an apartment by myself and would like one, that I can try to train to pee in kitty litter box, when I'm at school (I'm a college student---however before you go on a rant, I only have class tuesdays and thursdays.) I want to train it to not bark as often by wearing those magnetic (not electronically shock) collars. What is the best puppy for me?

You guys are a s s holes. I dont know everything about dogs, but I've always had dog and am pretty intelligent when it comes to animals. I'm not asking for your pathetic answers of what not to get, all I am asking is the kind of breed description that would fit my lifestyle.

It is possible, I cant get a large dog...its a one bedroom apartment. And I cant get a outside dog since on tuesday and thursday he will go a few hours without being outside. So training him to pee in a litterbox, when he cant get outside, seems ok.

none, sorry, and I'm not trying to be mean, but I think a cat would be more appropriate for you.

Watch your local rescues. Visit them during adoption and they will help you find one just for your needs. You can discuss your schedule and probably have someone bring the dog to your house to visit and see what happens before you adopt. It may take a while but be patient and wait for the right one. I would suggest something a little older already in the housebreaking process. Go ahead and start purchasing your supplies so you are ready - the small ones get adopted much quicker than large dogs so you want to be ready when your pet finds you

You should go with a miniature dauschaund (spelling?). We have one and she is extremely calm mannered. Perfect for training. I don't know about the litter box though. I'm sure you could probably train just about any type of dog to use one if they are willing. It all comes down to the type of dog you get.

IMHO, there isn't a best puppy for you. Obviously, you know very little about dogs.

If you want something that doesn't bark and uses a litter box, you should get a cat!!!! It appears that's what you want a dog to be anyway!

Yorkies. Theyre small and they stay small. But well... i know u dont want a dog thats yippeee but this is a very friendly dog. I had one. They like to play a lot, and they love children. Get one, even though theyr yippee.

And the Pekines too.

I think a good dog for you would be a Pembroke Welsh Corgi or a Cardigan Welsh Corgi. They are adorable! They dont get that big either. They are a good size. Here are pix of each kind. http://www.tegiet.onsi.pl/images/rasy/Cardigan_Welsh_Corgi.jpg

You need to get yourself a stuffed animal. They never eat or go to the bathroom. They just sit on your bed and wait for you to come home. Always happy to see you (their smiles are sewn on) and they never ever bark
