I read the book. It works okay, but you have to be consistant. So, I think anything would work, as long as it is consistant. I got to the point it was embarassing to say 1 - 2 ... in public. My kids are older now (11 & 13), and they are still a pain in the bottom sometimes, thats just kids. You'll manage, every parent does.

I've not tried the DVD's but had read the book. If you want a really good way to raise your kids, try the book "bounderies with kids", I think the author was Kevin Lehman, I'm not sure about that. It was a great book, really sensible. I read it in one sitting! It calls for natural consiquenses for the things kids do so they learn to stop themselves from doing stupid things. I really recommend that book.

I have never heard of the book or dvd, but my mom alwasy counted to 3 with us, and that's what I do with my boys. My 4yo straightens up as soon as he hears '1' (even in spanish or french, so its also a learning experience) but my 2yo waits for me to say 'thr' and rushes to do whatever it is before I can get out the 'ee'.

you don't need books .. your learning along with your child .. what works and seems like a cure all for one has no effect on another trust in yourself YOU know your child..a book or DVD doesn't cover the variables in your life ..you find what works whether its whispering counting or time out ...grow and learn together. you'll be a better parent ......Honest!

I have not used that magic.............but you can do any magic that disciplines your child. Just make sure that you won`t overdo disciplining your child, especially in a physical manner. Good luck!

Books and movies are for parents who don't know how to discipline. Be strict, and your kids will behave.
