Nope, I don't agree with you. Define pure evil. I have another synonym for you, Terrorism. Howzdat?
Don't mock people who believe in heaven and hell just cuz you don't want to believe. I studied both sides very carefully before I made my choice. Did you? Many people are fake, they don't have to be Christians to be fake, but for the sake of all those who are the real thing, please don't melt them in the same pot. Okay???
Why is it bother ing you so much that people believe in God? And FYI people who believe in God don't have a guilty conscience. On the contrary.
If anyone tell you that you are going to hell, it's a sign of love, really... According to that belief they want you to be saved from hell... in my book that means they care. Just say thanks, and take it or leave it. But don't go around insulting people because of what they believe. Anyone can do that.....
And FYI hell was not made for people. That's why they are trying to warn you not to get there. And they do believe... and many even have a Ph.D. before their name... Do you? You can't claim to be the most educated out there. Please be reasonable. Insults don't prove anything, just how low you are. How's that going to do something good for humanity??
Everyone chooses their belief. You made your choice, be happy with it. Regardless of whether you believe there is a God or not, He still loves you. You don't have to believe that, but what if it's true??? Would that change the way you think, act, speak?
There are vindictive bastards on both sides, but that's a personal agenda and I don't agree with it. Live and let live. Okay?
Have a nice day! God bless!

They believe that telling people they are going to hell will scare them into believing in God, which pretty much never happens....
usually those people who say those things don't have a very strong faith them selves or don't understand the Bible
if they really knew the Bible they would know that them making that staement and judging others is a sin and THEY could go to hell for it,
I would never tell someone they were going to hell, only God knows that
usually these people are NOT christians, they may say they are but they do not found thier belifs on the Bible, therefore... not christians

I don't think the answer is as simple or polarized as you have made it. I once believed in hell, and out of love I tried to save people from it.
Now I believe in reincarnation with temporary and or personal hells that we create or other impose upon us.
With this said, yes, I believe the concept of eternal Hell is the most evil spiritual concept that has ever been invented. This concept has created a fear based theology.
However there are some golden nuggets in the Bible. "Perfect love drives out all fear...Mercy triumps over judgement...Judge not least you be judge...If any of you are without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone...All who draw the sword will die by the sword...Love your enemies...Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind...Love your neighbor as yourself."
Also Christianity has been changed over the years via the Roman empire and the Catholic Church. Christianity used to be much more peaceful believing in concepts like reincarnation and the feminine divine.

Some people don't understand what they are really saying. I'm guessing you are talking about Christians and you are not one yourself. Don't worry about them - they will learn eventually that they are wrong in their condemnation of you. I know because I was like them and I am a Christian too. There is a much better way of living and showing God's love than belittling others. Just have peace in that Jesus did much more for you and I than you or I can ever do for him. I love free things...and if Jesus wanted to give his life so I could live, I'm taking it with open arms. God's Will is that everyone know and accept Jesus's free offer - so I am not strong enough to condemn you to hell in error, I am only strong enough to point you to read one beautiful paragraph in the Bible and let it be up to you whether or not you follow through and humor me by reading it - it is Romans 10. Just know that God has shown and proven His love for you in Jesus. Stop listening to others condemnation, and start listening to God's redemption. Hope and encouragement are much better illustrations of telling others who you really are if you are in my shoes and I think if you really take a good look - you'll see the Lord for who He really is, and the false preconceived notions will wash away like they've never been there. You can do it if you want to...

You are so very right.
Most of the people I've met who pontificate and tell others that they'll go to hell for thier "evil" ways, I would not allow into my house. For any reason.
They are utter hypocrites and if you were to open up thier private lives, you'd probably see some of the most disgusting practices imaginable.
Yes, christianity is founded on hypocracy. It's just one of the many, many reasons I left and will never return.

Because they're HYPOCRITES, that's why! They don't know what they "believe" either. they might have a guilty conscience about something. Maybe they're bitter against God for something that happened (but the devil causes the bad stuff, not God!!!). Hell is not imaginary, jsut fyi. They might very well be fakes. Yes, it is very ironic (in answer to your first question).

Ignorance is a disease that EVERY human has. Just because one person considers what another does as being socially unacceptable is no reason to look or talk condescendingly. The Law of Humanity says LIVE and LET LIVE. Now when the actions of another affects the well being of others is when that person should be corrected.

Whoever told you that was obviously upset or frustrated. Humans get that way sometimes.
However, God is not imaginary; Jesus Christ is not imaginary, and the guidelines we are given to help us, even in our human sinful depravities, are not imaginary. They are real.
I'm sorry you met someone who was having a bad day. But, I'm sure you have those too---.
