LIBERALS make me sick to my stomach whining about trash in Guantanamo and interroagtion camps/prisons who are CLEARLY at least for the large majority TERRORISTS who would gladly strike out to kill them given the chance. Those bastards at Guantanamo have it better than arguably any POW has ever had it, and they do NOT deserve such good treatment. They are detainees and should be MADE to talk!!!!

A lot of the so-called evidence used to hold the detainees in Gitmo is very one-sided. I believe Gitmo is a good idea. But the Bush administration has handled it poorly. This should be a place for CONVICTED terrorists. But under this administration you are guilty until proven innocent.
There was a reporter that was working on a story about one of the prisoners there. The Bush administration claimed that they couldn't find any defense witnesses. It took the reporter 3-THREE-days to find not only the defense witnesses, but also pay stubs and banking records that showed the guy WAS NOT in Afghanistan conducting terrorist training when the Administration said he was. He was arrested when he returned home to see his family.
Gitmo is a good idea, just this Administration is carrying it out wrong.

Sounds to me like things have gotten a bit out of hand. I'm not advocating brutality towards prisoners, but there is a delicate balance between mistreatment and coddling. Besides the humanitarian issues, brutality generally isn't a productive means of getting prisoner cooperation with interrogation. On the other hand a prisoner can be "spoiled" by placating them. Any time prisoners become this brazen they have forgotten their circumstances and are in need of a serious reality check. Just another debt of graditude we owe our limp wristed, politically correct, intellectuals in the liberal media.

Gitmo was extreme. If you reasonably expect any U.S. soldiers captured to have any sort of protection when you treat people the way you did there, then you reap what you sow. Yes, their are atrocities when soldiers are captured but if you profess to be better than someone, try acting like it. That is why the Supreme court ruled the way it did. And if you were a captured soldier, I'd bet you hoped your captors would treat you humanely. If another country treated their captives the way you treated those in Gitmo, you would have gone in full bore, why expect different because of who you are. You are a better country than that. And just because I believe in treating a prisoner humanely, doesn't make me a cry-baby, it makes me human.
P.S.
Cowardice because I speak out against due process? Wow. I'd have to say that your Supreme Court if full of cowards as well because they believe in due process. That is what I, for one , was speaking out against. There are no praise allahs here. I have a son serving as we speak and I would like to hope that he is treated humanely if something happened. Get your blinders off. Sorry if my view is not as extremist as yours but calling me a coward just shows your true ignorance.

All prisoners in all prisons act like that. Additionally, put yourself in their shoes for one minute: You may not have even done anything, there has been no process to make you understand what the charges are against you or how long you will be held against your will.
Just because we're doing it doesn't make it right.

Amazing how the first and third posters seem to know nothing about the prisoners at Gitmo.
What makes them really disgusting is that they are displaying their cowardice by slandering soldiers who they know cannot defend themselves. It is so cheap and easy to make accusations when you know that the people you are accusing cannot defend themselves without violating security.
Aren't you so proud of yourselves?

We, as Americans, are held to a higher standard than those we are fighting against. That is why we get upset when our own military do not act in a manner befitting the uniform. We are better than that. We do not lower ourselves to the enemy. Ever.
