At our local Best Buy, it really depends on what department you shop. The service is exactly opposite what retail consultants would say is the best (and most profitable) customer service. I am usually mobbed by employees if I am browsing self-service areas with the cheaper stuff (CDs, DVDs, video games). However, if I venture to big ticket items or expensive electronics (appliances, TVs, digital cameras, computers), I can't find anyone. If I can find a sales person, he is usually helping 3 people simultaneously and asks me to wait. Then when someone comes up to him after me and asks for help, I suddenly feel oddly jealous and possessive. "That's my sales guy, lady. Back off and find your own, salesperson whore!"

I suddenly turn invisible when I need a drink refill at most restaurants. Must be a patch to the program I missed at one point. Does anyone have the site i can download the patch and override?

It's like this in all of retail. It's usually not the workers' fault though. They are working very hard with very few other people on the floor. Most retail outlets try to get away with as little labor as possible, especially when it comes to guest service.

Are you kidding?
When I go in there, I have an employee bug me every 50 ft . Annoying.

The question is - why are you asking this in the mental health section?

customer service sucks everywhere....you got low paid people who think they know it all and are better than those that are spending their hard earned money....treat them like the dogs they are.
