My aunt had a sweet, well trained dobie growing up. She was always very good to us kids, but if a stranger came near us, forget it! My aunt still has a doberman to this day. My Mom has one now. It goes after cats.
I think that they are lovely, trainable dogs, but they are on the Dangerous Breeds list. If you choose to get one, I would suggest a trained, spayed, female. Unaltered male dogs are much more likely to bite. Make sure that you have enough space for it to burn off excess energy. That can cause frustration in any dog. And, take it to the proper training courses.
BTW, some home owner's insurances are opting out of policies with risky dogs. Not just big ones like Pits, Dobies or Rotts, but also breeds most likely to bite-terriers, etc.
Do all the research you can.

Squish - NO dog "turns on you".... go out and do your own breed research before you come here and spread idiocy! You said the same about pitt bulls a while back and were way off then too.
Yes, dobermans are fine with kids, just aways supervise and that goes wth ANY breed. You must educate children on how to be nice to dogs, some want to hit them and stuff. If its been tied to a tree for its whole life with little human contact, then no... but if its a family pet who is trained, its fine.
Little yappy dogs are the worse with kids because they do not have patience with them and are FAR quicker to bite. In addition people simply dont train them properly because theyre little.

in the event that they are raised perfect from pup point, with little ones i could say specific yet like all dogs, super and small you may desire to continuously shop a watch on the two little ones and canines. Smaller yards specific in the event that they are getting adequate workout out of the backyard on a on a regular basis foundation, walking. in the event that they are not getting out they're going to grow to be cooped up bored unfavorable canines that may grow to be a bad dogs with adverse behavior and a anti social character. i does not introduce an excellent breed dogs which you probably did no longer comprehend this is historic past or it hadn't been raised with little ones to the blend however.

They don't mix! Unforutnately, dobermans have been known to be agressive in nature (not all but most), and I would definately not have them around kids!

I would be very careful, because they are known, for turning on you. There is no Guarantee, on how they will except,& interact with childern, so you'll have to play it by ear.

If the dog has been properly socialized, you won't have any problem.
