I can buy a set for $250 and would like to start playing this summer. The little experience I have with golf is that I have hit on the driving range several times but never played on a course. I've learned that perimeter weighting is important and that drivers with higher face angles will help. The problem is there are many club manufacteres offereing similar products. I'd rather buy a quality product to learn with from a respected company than save a few dollars and buy from a cloning company. Thanks in advance.

You can find a good starter set for less, that set will work. The first set is to get you to the point so you can figure out what kind of clubs you want. I suggest checking out the programs at www.playgolfamerica.com to help you get started.
