because the bible has been altered and nobody wants to admit it, because so many people would have to rethink their belief, and values all on their own, causing peace, understanding, and love, and equality throughout the world, making everyone not have to much to fight about, and people actually be healthy and happy

Although the gospels were written after the death of Jesus, The Cross has never been the main focus of Christianity until recently. Last couple of hundread years. The major focus was on the resurection. What we need to remember is that anyone that was placed on the cross in Jesus' time was consided to be a criminal so bad that he needed to be displayed and punished. Being crucified was one of the worst punishments a person could receive.

The cross... was not that uncommon those days... People were crucified long before they crucified Jesus... People associated the cross with humility, with shame, hard life in general... The cross is a symbol of a curse... In this quotation it means your status quo...
People understood him when he was talking like that, it was a common point of refference.

If that is the case then all the OT is meaningless. The blood sacrifices of an animal is a metaphor for Jesus's blood. There are many OT passages become meaningfull after the events in NT.

First, Jesus knew the manner of His death well ahead of time.
Second, the people knew very well what it meant to take up a cross. Romans burned it into their consciousnesses on a regular basis. He meant that following Him would have a painful cost.

It is in reference to the future.
Our sins, our burdens, are the cross. Jesus is setting the example for us.
In order for us to follow Jesus we must bear our trials, if we don't we are not worthy to follow.
Jesus was worthy, hence, after his crucifixion he resurrected and followed God.

Full of meaning!!!!!!!! Because, Jesus, the son of God, is God as well. He therefore knows what is going to happen to him, he foretells it right in that passage. He knew this would happen, and he still loved those that he would shed his blood for.
