Try to think of it as a health insurance policy only for your car.
There are MANY variations in both policies.
You should discuss all the variations of the warranty that you buy.
Some warranty companies offer a GPR warranty.
That means if you never use any part of the warranty, you get a 'Guaranteed Purchase Refund'.... you get your money back, less a filing fee !!
I don't know about you, but I've been paying for health insurance for years, And wouldn't mind getting a chunk of that money back since I have been fortunately healthy! But there's no way that I would live without health insurance!

Just getting a warranty on a used vehicle is worth it. Think about it you are buying someone else's problems when you buy a used car. With dealerships and used cars you can never be too sure if they've disclosed everything that is wrong with a used vehicle. They are trying to get it off their lot as quickly as possible.
As for what's covered, you would have to ask the company/dealership what's covered on the type of warranty you are considering purchasing. They will hand you a booklet with a list of coverages but it's best to ask BEFORE you buy. I have a used vehicle from a 'not-so-reputable' dealership and I am so glad that I have a warranty. If I hadn't gotten it I would have spent thousands of dollars on repairs. Good luck

That varies from dealer to dealer. It is good because should any of the mechanical parts (engine, transmission, brakes, etc) need repair, it will cost you less out of pocket than without it.
Just do some research and ask around to see if you're getting a good deal or just jerked around.
