The temperature today is going over 50C over 120F for non canadians. If it's warm where you are, how do you plan on beating the heat (not sure if this is a proper place for this question but I couldn't figure out a better place for it

I'm in Florida and our electric bills have gone up about $100.00 a month in the past 2 months. It's hot here too but what's funny (not really ha ha but....) Florida is known for year round warmth. Lately it's been hotter for the rest of the US than we are here (yet, we're in 90s). I'm working in an office with fans as the air unit died and I don't think they plan on fixing it. :{

I saw that the humidex reached 49 degrees in parts of Ontario yesterday, and some areas had overnight lows of 29 degrees, with the humidex not going below 40. And it's supposed to be several degrees warmer today, into the upper 30's without the humidex figured in.

The hottest humidex ever in Canada is 52 degrees, from Windsor (June 20, 1953). Will that record fall today? Maybe, several spots are already at 45 degree humidices at 10 IN THE MORNING!!!

To answer your question, move to Calgary, where it was a wonderful +5 degrees this morning. How refreshing !!!!

Or if you stay where you live, then go to a cooling center. Surely with an "extreme heat alert" in place, there will be special precautions taken.

The heat index is 100 in Tennessee today also. I usually love the summer time but this is a little too much heat for me.

Sometimes I think I am going to pass out in this heat. Its unbearable !!!
I love winters, even though it can be bone chilling at times. At least I am not drenched in sweat, the moment I step outside and my hair doesn't get frizzy !!!!
