Number One is right.
the phrase is "look different to someone"
There is also "taste different to someone" and it can be used with other sense words like "feel, sound and smell." The meaning is "In my opinion, they look different."
I can't really see that we would be able to use "for" here. I am curious what the people who said it is right actually think it means.

Both are correct depending on context, although the second one is a little contrived.
Imagine you are looking at some children you've not seen for a while, you could use the first then.
If they appeared all dressed up for your wedding and you were used to seeing them in playclothes, you could use the second.
personally, I'd go with "Hell, kids, you don't half look weird!"
