Microsoft Publisher 2002. It has templates for greeting cards and many other projects. Much easier to use than word because its made for artistic purposes as well as most any other documents.

Scribus is a free desktop publishing application (www.scribus.net) and is compatible with Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. This site also contains a tutorial.

Page Maker is still one of the best, and older versions of it can be obtained quite cheap on the internet.
