It is Laois or formerly Leix. The only county in Ireland that does not touch a county that touches the sea. As flat as a pancake but still nice. Some nice fishing.
With respect to your question: I am not from Laois but my mothers family came from Ballacolla, near Durrow.......is that any help...........
