Depends on your hair ... fine hair might need a few more layers ... curly hair might needs something else. I would suggest something with layers around the face, starting below your chin ... no bangs because they'll cut off the length of your face. and keep any volume on the top of your head, not by your cheeks, as they tend to be the widest part of your face.

all you need to do is add some height on top and get an angle cut into the edge in front of your hair. do not get a bob cut this will only make your face look more round. especially if it cut near your chin (adds width)
the stylist should give you suggestions on volumnizing products. some of the best ones are matrix's amplify line and redken's body full line.

A layered look would suit you. Don't do bangs and never cut your hair shorter than your chin. Just remember "Short hair, fat face!"
