We just got as kitten 2 1/2 months old, she already knows how to use her litter box but the filling that we've got is so messy. It's dusty, it goes everywhere after the kitten is done so I have to wipe the floors every time after her. Any advice how to make this easier?

HI, try the pine litter. It's sold in a green bag and the litter is actual pellets of pine. It smells really good and lasts a long time and is even less expensive than other litter. To use it you just pour it in an empty litter box. Urine will dissolve the litter and settle to the bottom as sawdust and #2 can easily be scooped out and flushed! After about a month you totally empty out the litter and refill it with a new batch. The litter is really different from conventional litter but it works so well. Plus you won't have the sand-like litter all over the carpet or flooring. Hope this helps!

Get the clumping litter, that works very well. Fresh step is a good brand, and Petsmart has several others to choose from. They have the best prices. Also get a covered litter box, it cuts way back on litter and dust going everywhere. If you put the box on a piece of old carpet or a bath mat, I have found that helps keep the area a little cleaner. You just shake out the rug when you change the litter and then wash the rug once a week. Congratulations on your new family member!

use a large covered litter box and fill it with Fresh Step Clay Cat Litter. I've been using this for over 2 years and have never had a problem with either one of my cats going to the bathroom. it's made with an odor control so it won't smell up the entire house either. I use a covered litter box because I have a 2 year old female cat who is really worried about her privacy when she "goes". she's spoilt!!! if you use Fresh Step, buy the bag, not the box. the bag has bigger chunks which I like because it's easier to pick up around the house when they track it everywhere. I hate all that sand crap, that's one of the reasons why I use this brand. Fresh Step is a good brand of cat litter and I will never use any other brand for my cats. I would recommend it to anyone who asked. HIH!!! =^-^=

I absolutely LOVE Scoop Away for Multiple Cats. I only have one kitten, but I live in a condo, so I wanted to make sure there was no smell. I actually like the smell of the kitty litter by itself! It smells almost like that stuff you sprinkle on your carpets to make it smell good. Ive only tried that and Tidy Cat, but I didnt really like the smell of Tidy Cat. When I was close to the litter box, I could smell the pooh a little.

several tips

use a litter box with a higher rim so she cannot kick it out
use a litter mat in front of the box so the litter falls on the mat
use non-scented clumping litter, it is not dusty and is the litter most cats prefer and controls odor reasonably well

when you feed a good quality food (not one from grocery store or walmart) your cat will poop less

get arm and hammer super scoop and get a covered litter box, that keep most of the litter in the box and off your floors, my one cat would jump in the box and just start digging and getting litter all over the floor. half a bucket of litter would end up having to be swept up.

you do no longer ought to alter all the sand on an universal basis yet you DO ought to scoop out something that became deposited, the two moist and dry, to maintain the scent down. on a daily basis, often every time you spot the outdoors disturbed. Get it out of the field and right into a bag and out of the homestead. in case you do not have a scoop, get one or locate a brilliant spoon at a rummage sale and use that for removing issues.

I use crystals. I like them because you don't have to worry about the pee, you just mix it in and the crystals absorb it. And then you just scoop out the poop. It lasts for a really long time and it is lighter to carry than the other stuff. I use the pearls too. And it really keeps the smell under control. And its super easy to clean when it is time to change it. I've never had any dust issues.
