Yes, I do believe it's real.

In fact, as your probably know that the movie "Exorcism of Emily Rose" was based on a true story. Of course, Hollywood added some of their touch and the actual story took place in Germany.

This is the only exorcism that the Catholic Church has accepted as the "real thing". While the Catholic Church has had to face the exorcism requests on several occasions, this one is like I said, the only one they will recognize, at least publicly !!!

Keep in mind that there are many things we never hear about and ask your self, why do they train their priests to perform exorcism if it does not exist or at least the possibility of it?

Unreal.

There are no demons.

There is no Satan.

More from http://skepdic.com/exorcism.html

Most, if not all, cases of alleged demonic possession of humans probably involve either people with brain disorders ranging from epilepsy to schizophrenia and Tourette's syndrome, or people whose brains are more or less healthy but who are unfortunate enough to be sucked into playing a social role with very unpleasant consequences. In any case, the behaviors of the possessed resemble very closely the behaviors of those with electrochemical, neurochemical, or other physical or emotional disorders.>

Exorcisms are real because demonic possession occurs, but stay away from Hollywood's version of events.

The reason demonic possession is rarer in this day and age is not because we are good. It is because of the Christian practice of Baptism, which signs one for Christ, effectively putting him out of the reach of 'demonic possession.'

Of course, a Baptized person can still become possessed. A few examples:

By consciously rejecting the vows of his/her Baptism, that is, denying God.

By 'walking on the dark side,' that is, inviting the 'dark powers' to come into his/her life.

Through extreme indifference which is how so many people nowadays throw away their Salvation.

A good book on this subject is: THE DEVIL--WHO HE IS AND WHAT HE DOES. If it is not out of print, it should be available from Tan Publishers Rockford, IL. Otherwise, used copies should still be available from bookstores dealing in rare books. Unless you read French, try to get the English version.

Exorcisms are real. I have known priests that served as exorcists. They are bound by secrecy during their tenure.
An exorcism should never be undertaken by a person alone; they need to have the backing of God, because it HE who drives out the demons, not a human.
I have seen the movie, and it scared me. It's very, very loosely based on a true story.

Call me a kook, but....Yes.
A well-known and respected pastor of Calvary Chapel, who would have nothing to gain by lying, detailed one he had attended. The accounts were pretty frightening.

He offered a word of caution in that one should not attend unless they are well grounded in Christ as, when the spirit is brought out, it will seek another.

I haven't seen the movie but I know that it is real.
It's what the bible calls "casting out demons" and I have seen it twice, one in our church Service and one at a conference.
Jesus said that we, those that believe, could do the same things that He did and even greater things we could do!

i think that a person has to be weak minded and believe in god and Satan. and when they feel they are bad enough, psychologically they become possessed by an alter ego. the only way to 'heal' them ; in their minds; is to have a priest tend to them.

You don't need a priest of any Church to draw out demons. You can bind and draw them out in the name of Jesus Christ
