Not judging is just not possible for a human being with reason to function normally. You can't go through life not judging. Jesus never said, " Don't even judge. Period."
This is one of those things that people seem to get wrong much of the time.
HOWEVER, if you judge someone for murder, say in a murder trial, don't you know that you are guilty of murder yourself? And if you are judging someone for cheating on his wife, thereby committing adultery, did you ever look at another woman in lust- Jesus said that the thought is as bad as the deed. So what do you do with that? You judge by the Laws of man. You judge to protect yourself and others.
This is a really complicated subject to adequately explain. I would need to give so many examples.
Here is an attempt at a bottom line:
If someone tells you something and asks what you think, and you tell them, they don't like the answer and tell you not to judge, tough for them.
If you pry the truth out of someone that is not someone under your care, then it's none of your buisness, leave them alone, you shouldn't be judging them either.

"Judge not lest you be judged. You therefore have no right to judge me when it comes to my sins!"
The world often takes this verse out of context and uses it to accuse Christians of being "judgmental" when they speak of sin. In the context of the verse Jesus is telling His disciples not to judge one another, something the Bible condemns (Romans 14:10; James 4:11). In Luke 6:41,42 He speaks of seeing a speck in a brother’s eye. In John 7:24 He said, "Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment." If someone steals, lies, commits adultery or murder, etc., the Christian can make a (righteous) moral judgment and say that the actions were morally wrong, and that these sins will have eternal consequences. Chuck Colson said, "True tolerance is not a total lack of judgment. It’s knowing what should be tolerated—and refusing to tolerate that which shouldn’t."

This is too "Over the head" for most of the people.
We are called to judge actions (Right or wrong)
We have set up a judicial system that not only judges but passes judgement.

Judge here means to condemn....not evaluate
It is proper to evaluate circumstances....so that we can decide if we should be a part of it... for ex. if i see that someone steals from others, I will make a decision not to let him in my home...this is ok... i have judged that he is a thief, and for my own safety, it is best not to be around him.....and i should turn him in for stealing. What I cannot do is decide WHY he did it... and determine the fate of his soul. Only God can make that judgement.
So we can judge behavior, but not necessarily assign a spiritual reason for that behavior, which affects the person's eternal destiny.
The "don't judge me" response is usually coming from someone who is guilty of something and in denial..so if you have an observation, make it once, and then turn it over to God to handle them.

Others are correct. Judging in itself is a sin and those that judge shall be judged immediately and under more scrutiny.

You are getting lost on wording. All they are saying is to not look down on them because their morals and your morals may be different.
