I would like to be able to come and go thru both countries freely. I am interested in finding a woman to marry over there.

Don is completely wrong - where do people GET this stuff? The answer below is wrong, too: there are many US foreign service officers who have dual citizenship. The answer below that one is wrong, too: US citizens are required to leave and enter the US using their US passports. No one cares what other passports they might use for travel elsewhere.

The US has no laws against dual citizenship, just warnings about how US citizenship can possibly be lost:

On the other hand, the Philippines does have a law against dual citizenship:

Of course you can have dual citizenship! And no, you don’t have to renounce your citizenship to the United States in order to be a Philippines citizen as well. The only negative impacts this would have is if you are looking to join the foreign service of either country or work for one of those nations governments. This may limit your opportunity to do so freely.

You do not have to renounce your US citizenship unless the Philipines requires that of you, which I seriously doubt.

I can think of no hindrance to having dual citizenship between the two countries. The only problem is that if you travel out of the US on your US passport, and enter the Philipines on your Philipines passport, there may be some questions at the US border when you return as to why your passport has not been stamped in another country. I believe you are supposed to travel with the same passport. I don't think the Philipines passport will open many doors that the US passport does not open, but I don't really know.

Good luck.
