Jesus is a religious figure (in the Bible - God's Son) and was born some 2000 odd years ago. No one knows exactly when he was born, so when Constantine made Christianity the "world" religion the powers that be suggested using December 25th as the date. Mostly because it was around when some "pagan" were celebrating and this would help with the transition to the new religion.

Santa is derivived from a Catholic priest later sainted - thus Saint Nicholas. The name is translated differently in some other countries and eventually the name became Santa Claus. It was told that St. Nick gave a family some money as a dowery for their girls to get married. Another is that he rescued some boys from a pickle barrel.

Hope this helps.

Well Christmas was a tradition stolen from the pagans so snow and Santa fit it as much as jesus does.

Santa is a bastardization of the tales of St. Nicholas - however, Xmas goes back to ancient Rome, and the celebration of Mithras, wherein there was great feasting and gift-exchange. Christians assimilated the pagan holidays in an attempt to woo the masses to the "new" religion.

santa is what lore has made of st. nicolas of myra, a sixth century bishop. he was reputed to be very good to children, for instance he apparently provided three poor girls with a dowry so they could get married (that's where the stocking thing comes from), brought an abducted child home and revived a dead boy. in some european countries, like germany, austria and the netherlands, his feast day is celebrated on the 6th of decemeber with little treats for the kids and father christmas then comes on christmas eve.

jesus is from nazareth, and jerusaleum. He looks like a Persian man.

Santa is Saint Nicolas, a story of a man who used to give out presents. No relation to Jesus. Jesus has nothing to do with the gift giving holiday of Christmas. In fact, Jesus wasn't even born on Dec. 25. You should read up on this on wikipedia.
