I am no sure about a Kodak Z740, but I always stick ti the classic polaroid. Very cheap compared to a digital, and the pictures always turn out great. You could probably pick one up at your local thrift store for no more than 10 bucks.

Hope this helps.

It's a good enough camera with a decent zoom and it takes fairly quick shots on the basic setting. That makes it good on the extreme zoom and for movement. I don't feel it's one of the better Kodak cameras, but you can still get some pretty good shots.

If you're going for all out photography, I'd look for something with a manual focus. Autofocus often will focus on grass and trees around the subject in nature, rather than the animal you are trying to photograph. Also, take a tripod and learn about your aperture settings for photos with less light. It may sound advanced, but many digital cameras now offer more simplistic aperture settings.
