I believe God speaks to all of His children/all mankind. Certain people of other faiths become leaders in those faiths or even create those faiths based on what God told them. However, it is also my belief that for many of those leaders, things got skewed when they tried to explain to others their experience with God. And as it passed from person to person, it got more and more skewed, until there was very little left of what God actually said to the original person. The basic truths may still be there, but the specifics get lost the farther it gets away from the original person God spoke to. And afterall, isn't that what seperates all the different religions?... the details?
Of course being Mormon, I could go into how I believe Mormonism is the correct religion. How the authority to act and speak in the name of Jesus Christ was lost shortly after the Apostles died, but how it was restored to Joseph Smith Jr. And while that is true, and I believe it whole heartedly, the reason WHY the world has all the different religions it has, is because without proper authority from God to act and speak in His name, man puts his own spin on what God says, and therefore corrupts what God says. It's human nature to take the easy road, and that is what has happened with the religions of the world. It doesn't mean there aren't truths found in those religions, it's just that they don't have the full Gospel of Jesus Christ.

I once read a book on Hinduism that related it to Christianity, basically saying that all religions were the same, only that they were interpreted differently by different cultures. It was saying that God spoke to all of them and we all serve the same God despite what religion we use to do it.

I believe that God speaks to everyone (including those of other religions). He does it in many ways. I think that most nonbelievers or those even opposed to God and/or Jesus Christ are spoken to through prophetic messages. Those can come from anybody....your best friend (a nonbeliever or athiest) can deliver a prophetic message from God to you. He may not say, "By the way, God told me to tell you not to go clubbing tonight because you're gonna hook up with some raunchy woman and have premarital sex." He might (for whatever reason) decided to cancel a night of clubbing because of (insert reason here), which prevents you or deters you from doing something God didn't want you to do....or keep you from a situation you shouldn't be in at that particular time. (NOTE: Free will sucks in that you can hear the message plainly and there may be many indicators happening in your life at that moment telling you not to do something, but your free will keeps you pushing towards that goal God is trying to keep you from. Another for instance....
You and your friend plan to go clubbing. He is reliable and generally never cancels. Well tonight he cancels and leaves you hanging. (Prophetic message one....don't go.) You call several other friends and nobody else seems to want to go out tonight (Prophetic message two.) You persist, still wanting to do something God doesn't want you to do and decide to drive yourself. You primp up and head out to your car. Low and behold you have a flat tire or your car won't start or both. (Prophetic message three.) Still determined you call a cab and they tell you it will be an hour and a half wait due to volume. (Prophetic message four.) You're not giving up....so you run to the bus stop just to miss the last bus downtown by 2 minutes (Prophetic message five.) At this point you're not even close to hearing the messages put in front of you and decide to walk to the club. Something God didn't want to happen to you happens (sin or otherwise....good or bad in your eyes....harmful or not). Not because God didn't speak to you....but because you failed to listen and hear what was being told to you.
As far as who is right...anyone claiming to have a God-Experience that is a testimonial to Gods work and supported by the Word of God should be believed. If someone claims that God appeared to them in their sleep and told them to go kill or rape someone (or commit suicide....etc...) then I would tend to think that person has a problem not a testimonial or a witness of God.
People that I have encountered that have had God experiences (and I've known) have shown dramatic changes in their behavior, outlook, and personality. God has worked in them to make them stronger people (whether emotionally, physically, or even financially). They all have been able to relate the experience detail by detail and something else I've noticed is that each of them remember (and never forget) the time/date/etc of the experience (as you would never forget your own birthdate.)
Hope I've helped.

God speaks to anyone who will listen... its not the religion that counts...its faith.
Faith is a strong belief...too strong to be contained in walls or a book...so strong that only our hearts can contain it...
I believe that God talks to all of us...but only those who believe can hear.
Then again, there are also loons who claim to hear voices and kill in Gods name or say God told them things.
I only believe in my relationship God which is personal and between me and God. It is not put here so that I impose my beliefs on others...I just say when asked...find your own way to God.
Talk with God and God will give you the answers. I never use 3rd parties. :)

I don't know who God talks to as individuals, but as a believer in Jesus I believe I serve the One True God. A one world religine will never happen. Becasue all the diffent religions you mention have diffrent absolute truth. We believe that God is unchanging. So he can't say one thin to one faith and another thing to another. And any God wants to bring order not chaos, so why would he confuse us with dozens of diffrent religions?

He speaks to all people receptive to his message.
You cannot hear if you do not listen, you cannot see if you do not open your eyes.
