I don't think that a lot of non-muslims think that Mohammed himself was a violent man, but its more of a misunderstanding of the whole history and religion itself. Most, lets use christians, don't actually know more than they are told or shown on TV, or read in biased articles. I am christian, but in my years I have taken the time to at least learn a little of the history and story of other religions like Islam and Judiasm. All three of these major religions in themselves teach their followers to be respectful of other religions, and they all acknowledge to believe in the same god.
Yet the problem with religion is not the religion itself its how it is interpreted and what people believe. Belief is a very scary thing. When people believe something enough they feel their way is justified and it is the right way. The is the problem with religion today, its not good enough to have faith, people need to believe in something and beliefs will always clash with the beliefs of others. From the reformation, protestant churches believed the churches should act a certain way from catholic churches. Sunni muslims believe their way is better than Shiites, and vice versa. And struggles with belief from within religions obviously spill over to believing one way of interpreting the message of God is better than another. Christians believe in the embodiment of God in Jesus, Muslims believe he was a prophet, and Jews deny him altogether. Who is to say who's belief is right over the other? Some may work better for others, but humans can't accept that. And then you have the people who just abuse the belief and take it to an extreme because they feel that maybe others are not doing enough to prove their belief, or they just use other people's beliefs for personal or other gains. Those are the terrorists, and those extremists are not just confined to the muslim religion. Christians have their fanatics and even in a non-violent extent in America there are ultra-right wing conservatives who try to control and censor what we see and hear because they believe that's what should be done and some do it in the name of the church.
Regardless, the root of most of the world's religious violence and fighting stems from simple ignorance, having too much belief and not enough faith.

Normally Islam is translated as submission. I have read the Koran and I cant see how Mohamed was any thing other than an dishonorable and violent man. By call Jesus a prophet you insult every christian, you reduce Jesus to just being a man like Mohamed. Yes Mohammedanism is based on pre existing Arabian religions, Christianity and Judaism all mixed together by Mohamed to form his own religion

Christians believe that Jesus Christ IS the son of God, who while dying on the cross, asked his father to forgive all humanity of their sins.
While Mohamed may or may not have been a violent man, many of his followers seem to be.
When people who profess to be devout Islamists hijack airplanes and fly them into buildings, believing that they will reach Heaven, by this action, it's difficult at best, to understand they are the exception and not the rule.
When I see riots and protests the world over, by Muslims, because somebody printed a cartoon of an Arabic man, one has to wonder just how peaceful Muslims are.
When one recently stated, that the goal of Islam is to FORCE their religion upon the world, it becomes difficult to believe that Islam cares about peace.

I agree with you. I am a muslim guy. Yeah, Nabi Isa (Jesus) is respected in our religion as a prophet. Injeel (Bible) is a holy book for us too. but not the current one, because it has gone thru many changes made by humans all these years. How many versions of Bible there now? Instead, Al-Quraan is the same and will remain the same till the end of this world.
Terrorist?? :) what israel is doing to palestine and now lebanon, and what US did to afghanistan and iraq, isn't that terrorism? Many people blame others as terrorists but they themselves are one of them.
When a non-muslim does something wrong, people say "oh! this guy is a bad guy". when a muslim does something wrong, people say "oh! he is a terrorist".
As u said, good and bad people are there in every relegion. the person can be bad but not islam because it says nothing but the truth.

whilst in comparison with Christianity, Islam has some similarities yet important variations. Like Christianity, Islam is monotheistic. besides the undeniable fact that, Muslims reject the Trinity—that God has revealed Himself as one in 3 persons: the daddy, Son, and Holy Spirit. Muslims declare that Jesus became a trifling prophet—no longer God’s Son. Islam asserts that Jesus, however born of a virgin, became created like Adam. Many Muslims do no longer have confidence Jesus died on the bypass. they do no longer understand why Allah might enable His prophet Isa (the Islamic be conscious for "Jesus") to die a torturous death. however the Bible shows how the death of the proper Son of God became necessary to pay for the sins of believers (Isaiah fifty 3:5-6; John 3:sixteen; 14:6; a million Peter 2:24). Islam teaches that the Qur'an is the proper authority and the final revelation of Allah. The Bible, besides the undeniable fact that, became executed interior the 1st century with the e book of Revelation. The Bible warns against every person including to or subtracting from God’s be conscious (Deuteronomy 4:2; Proverbs 30:6; Galatians a million:6-12; Revelation 22:18). The Qur’an, as a claimed addition to God’s be conscious, promptly disobeys God’s command. Muslims have confidence that paradise could be earned via preserving the 5 Pillars. The Bible, in assessment, famous that sinful guy can never degree as much as the holy God (Romans 3:23; 6:23). in basic terms via God’s grace would sinners be stored via repentant faith in Jesus (Acts 20:21; Ephesians 2:8-9). with the aid of fact of those necessary variations and contradictions, Islam and Christianity won't be able to the two be authentic. The Bible and Qur’an won't be able to the two be God’s be conscious. the fact has eternal consequences. “liked, do no longer have confidence each spirit, yet try the spirits to confirm whether or no longer they are from God, with the aid of fact many fake prophets have long previous out into the international. via this you be responsive to the Spirit of God: each spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come interior the flesh is from God; and each spirit that doesn't confess Jesus isn't from God; this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that this is coming, and now this is already interior the international” (a million John 4:a million-4; see additionally John 3:35-36).

No, I don't think so. I think that all three religion: Muslim, Christianity and Jews religion is actually the same religion or at least have the same origin. I don't think Mohamed was a violent, but it was Moses the one who is violent. I have read the Bible and I was shocked because he said his people should kill young children and women as well because they are not the same religion.

No, Mohamed was anythig but Violent and only extreemist make him out to be violent or to commit violence in His name.. Jesus was also a non-violent in His human form.. It is people who wage war in the names of their Gods. No religion espically Muslim teaches violence. We as humans use free will and insanity to prevoke and start wars. As a christian I was taught not to cast a stone at a sinner lest I be without sin. I was also taught not to judge others.. I still beleive this and practice this... The thing is.. I am stuck without any form of orginized religion because they all have forgotten this. God Bless Man Kind..For the few who still view things as I do--- Get intouch, maybe we could pray together..

What people think is immaterial to the fact that Mohammad was a murderer and a thief. How can everyone so easily forget that; just because he formed a religion out of his criminal philosophy? Mohammad was a killer-who can deny that? Does everyone ignore history just because they are afraid of what some people may think? We need to reason this out. Are all Arabs and Muslims blind and deaf to the facts? How did Islam start? Who started it? What did he do?
If you can truthfully answer those questions and then say Islam means peace-you are retarded!

It's not that we think that Mo was a violent man, we just believe he was a false prophet. False prophets are evil, not necessarily violent. Evil does not mean violence to Christians. Evil is anything that is not the plan of God. In Islam, salvation does not come through faith in Christ. Faith in Christ is God's plan for man's salvation. Hence, Islam is evil and it's inventor, Mo, is evil.
