3 minutes, then take it out or it overextracts and gets bitter. Oh, don't squeeze it when you take it out, you'll overextract it and squeeze bitterness into the cup. Simply take it out after 3 minutes and throw it away. Enjoy!

The best green tea I've had was made in a pot...with loose leaves. It does get mighty strong towards the end though...just experiment, some bagged varieties are probably a different blend or strength, find one you like and just experiment. A lot of people don't know this but green tea is highly dangerous if you have certain liver complaints, ....check out what it's benefits/ disadvantages are. just because it's herbal doesn't mean it is good for everyone. Happy brewing!!!

as the water gets more con centrated, the rate of diffusion reduces because the whole concept is to get the concentration even in both teabag and water. the rate of diffusion is different for every teabag as the content and concentration in each teabag is different.
in summary, after a few minutes, the flow of flavor from the teabag to the water is minimal and not enough to make any difference in flavor. a second tea bag is ur best choice

Here are the directions off my box of green tea bags bought at a local store: Hot tea: Just before water comes to full boil, pour water over tea bag and brew for 3 to 5 minutes, or to desired strength. Do no add sugar to it, for it is naturally sweet. I hope this helps. I used to drink coffee and now I drink tea instead.

I would let the green teabag sit in the cup until you are able to drink without burning mouth/tongue!@

I think this depends on personal tastes. Some people take it out once they have made the tea and some people leave it in the cup.

the longer you let it sit the stronger the tea but 5 - 10 minutes is usually about right for me

It depends on how strong you like it. I wouldn't leave it in any longer than 5 minutes or it would be too strong. I prefer mine to sit for about 3 minutes.
