Newer religions need numbers thats why, look at the Scientologists. They use big stars to attract gullible people.
TV evangelists use well erm TV (not blokes dressed as women obviously)
The older ones use a subtler form of blackmail

I'm not a Jehovahs witness, so maybe I shouldn't be answering eh. :-) Anyway, when they call at my place I've always found them to be very pleasant people. Way I look at it is, THEY believe, and they want to save me, and you, from the folly of our ways. Ok, I don't want saving, they won't change my views, but I appreciate that they honestly think they should make the effort to do so. Im grateful that there are people in this world that care that much.

I'm sorry if you have had an unpleasant experience, but in all honesty, Jehovah's Witnesses don't want to waste their time or yours if you truly are not interested in learning more about the Bible.
Our objective is to find people who want to learn about the Bible and discover all of the benefits there in. We do this because we love people and care about what happens to them, and we also love our God Jehovah and want people to know the truth about him. He is not to blame for all of the bad things we see around us, and want people to come to understand that. We also want to make sure that people understand that the conditions that we see around us are a sign that indicates we are living in what the Bible describes as the "last days". It would be wrong of us to withhold information that could save someone's life. That is why we make sure of a person's interest or lack of, because we really believe lives are at stake.

I have had a number of Jehovah Witness's at my door and they have never tried to force me to listen. I don't mind taking their magazines and I'm never rude to them, perhaps thats the answer, treat people how you expect to be treated?? I think its like every group/religon, every bag has it's bad apples and i'm sure that some Witness's can't understand why we don't follow their faith. I know that Witness's have to spread the word, its one of their most basic beliefs but every Witness I have ever met has been very accepting of the fact that I'm not a beliver

As a person very interested in the Johovah's Witnesses, I think they believe that by being consistent in the hope of converting you, will eventually lead to your acceptance into their faith. Afterall, that is what the disciples did, after Jesus' acension.

The witnesses believe not in the church but in the bible, they feel that organised churches isolate non-members who feel the church is unappoachable.

I think this is true. At my church, most are only there to be seen and to be able to look down on those who dont go to church.

They are not allowed, it is part of their religion to spread the good word.

One of my friends who is a witness had to spend his christmas day spreading good cheer to the towns folk. Much to their annoyance.

Like most people who firmly believe in their faith they cannot understand why somone would not want to have a fait and if they do why not theirs. Those who I know who believe in god firmly love him and do as he says and others should too.

I have no faith, I believe only in the strength of man and if I achieve something, its because of me, not some divine spirit.

JW is banned is several countries because it is a cult. You warp people's minds so they don't even want to visit their families. JW takes all joy out of life, including holidays, family, etc.

Oddly, JW encourages you to be poor and unsuccessful. What a bunch of loosers.

The reason you seek to convert others is to mask your own doubts of your beliefs. The reason you can't get out of JW is because your "friends" will disown you. That's a cult.

I never have any problems asserting "no" as my answer with Jehovah's Witnesses.

Just argue with them that there isn't a god they don't come back if you prove them wrong (they won't admit it like but still) Say no to jesus.
