In New York State Criminal Procedure Law, article 190 gives the rules on the grand jury and its proceedings. 190.50 states the rules regarding the calling of witnesses and the defendant as witness.

It's the section after 190.49 and before 190.51. Do you think the laws are numbered the same in every jurisdiction? How about a few clues, like country, state, even county, city or town, since it could be an ordinance?
