I tried the Belleville News Democrat but I can't find a way to pull up archieved birth announcements. Am I doing something wrong? Please help.

Go to the library....they keep all records of all old newspaper clippings. You will be able to find it there

Look on line in the yellow pages for Illinois newspapers and they will give you a list of newspapers. You can either call or write for the information. Most likely there will be a fee (nothing is free). You should have all information handy when you call. Or if you have a friend in Illinois have them go to the library an look on the microfilm.

announcements are fill for local newspapers, go to the library or maybe call them. if it's a small town they may look it up.
if it's a birth certificate, it's recorded in the county.
