I think you need to elaborate on this question so we can get the whole picture, are you having a ruff patch and can't work out how you can go through something like that if he said he loves you and wants to marry you, add a bit on and maybe we can help.

Probably because he loves you. But, You need to ask yourself the question.....why did you have to convince him? If he loves you, he should want to marry you and not agree to it.
