Research on anyone including a dying child must first be approved by the child's parents or guardian.The adult also must approve the research study.The reason so much research is done is to help cure the diseases that affect so many children.As a nurse,I say it is important to do research,while managing the needs of the child,emotionally,mentally, physically ,and spiritually.As a mother of 4,I think I would find it hard to let doctors do research on my child.The decision is up to the parents of the child.
