The voice of God is, in my opinion, not ever given to people. He speaks in subtle tones of reality. And history, records the results of that speak. What I mean for example, the 10 commandments, 'Thou shalt not kill' - well, if we could all kill at will, who would be left? That would be chaos. So, that makes sense - why would any reasoning organism have any right over any other? So, that got into the big 10. And if you steal stuff, it is weird, but bad stuff happens to you. At least that is my experience. I don't steal, because when I did as a kid, (every time), someone would take something of mine that mattered to me. Rarely is anything ever stolen from me now. Yes, there are thieves in the world, but I think this is how God speaks to us. Over time, and with life lessons.

I am not the first to observe this! People through history observed these live lessons, and wrote them down. Putting these lessons together, you form a religious doctrine.

Voices in someones head are sub-conscience and possibly ill thoughts. When humans believe something so strongly with all their being, voices may be manifested to 'rationalize' their actions.

Most of the time I believe it is mans made up ideas. He sees some quack doing the same thing and thinks he has too as well. All though I would never put the God of all creation in a box. But the bible clearly says in Hebrews1:1-2 " Long ago God spoke many times and in many ways to our ancestors through the prophets. But now in these final days, He has spoken to us through His Son.
