Then why did god allow man to create other gods?

God did not create religion. Man did, to explain things that we have trouble comprehending, and to guide society. Different religions occur because of geographical separations, different lineage, etc.
Religion is mans attempt to explain creation. I am sure God laughs at silly rituals like 'fish on Friday', or any other silly human behavior required by a religion. Very in the box thinking.
What a great place this would be if people were not so serious about their ritualistic religious zealot behavior. Instead, try to see it for what it is. For example, Jews say don't eat pork. That is because the meat would spoil in the days before refrigeration. A good rule back then, but today, makes no sense. I am not too familiar with Muslim, Hindi or Buddhist religions, but I am sure the premise of their religions is for us to get along - not to mock each other.

who says God created other religions? he created people - people created religions, all religions. even Christianity was created by people. I don't remember reading in the Bible that on the 6th day or whatever God created religion. yes I'm christian, but i still believe that it was formed by people. that doesn't make it wrong. we just have to realize there's a difference between what we create and what God creates
as for the other question, why did God allow people to create other gods, i think the actual question is, why does God allow us to do anything? not just create other religions, but murder, lie, hate him, whatever! if you can answer that big question, you can answer why he allowed us to create other gods.

God gave us His law, the bible. Man has created religion. Remember the Tower of Babel? That was man's idea too. However, God destroyed it. Eventually, the same will happen with all the religions man has created.

God didn't create all the other religions, man did. He allowed man to because He gave us all free choice to prove us, to see if we would do what we said we would and follow Him.

Lady Di is right, God did not create religion, man did. People started believing different things, that is why there are so many different religions. Sad thing is, they all think they are right. But which one if any is right?

2. And the dinosaur saw the God and said to himself 'hmmmm .... we should have made more"
3. So God said "I have an idea..... we can make pretend gods"
And the Dinosaur said "Thats ridiculous superstiteous nonsense"
4. And God destroyed all the dinosaurs by accident while trying to make the other gods.
